The Olentzero, the magical character that brings the gifts to the Basque homes, arrives in the capital of Bizkaia mounted on a giant Pottoka (horse breed of the Basque Country). ✭✭✭ until February 25, 2018 exhibition of the portraitist David Hockney after his monumental exhibition of landscapes in 2012, the artist returns to the Guggenheim museum Bilbao with an intense and enveloping installation around portraiture. All the works are the same size, they were painted in a time frame of three days and show the model seated in the same chair, illuminated by the bright light of southern California and with the same background of an intense blue. Thanks to the virtuoso treatment of the artist, the uniformity of the elements of each painting accentuates the differences between the different models, allowing their personalities to emerge from the canvas with a warm immediacy.

✭✭✭ Diputación Foral de Bizkaia organises a new edition of the European Heritage Conference, an ambitious Cultural Heritage awareness programme, promoted by the Council of Europe in collaboration with the European Union.
